Sprawl as Periphery and a Moving Edge: Life on the New Frontier
2025
Industrially knit and found fabric, Rockite
Informed by transportation corridors, industrial residue, and the soft geographies of expansion, this collection reflects on life at the edge of the city. Drawing from Joel Garreau’s Edge City and growing up in Gaithersburg, MD, it explores spaces shaped by infrastructure: neither fully urban nor suburban, but something unresolved. Each piece traces the tension between movement and stillness, development and erosion, presence and peripheral drift.
